I enjoyed every moment at Highgate House. The rooms, especially the Autumn room, were spacious with beautifully done decor. The king-sized bed felt incredibly luxurious. The bathroom had all modern amenities and was spotless, with soft towels that added a nice touch. Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room and featured a delicious spread with plenty of options, including well-cooked local ingredients. Polly and Andy were exceptional hosts, always friendly and accommodating. Polly even ironed my husband’s shirts, which was above and beyond! The guest house sits close to the town, just a short walk to reach the heart of Whitby, making it super convenient. parking was a bit of a challenge. The public car park behind the house was small, and finding a space took longer than expected. If you're planning to stay during peak times, that could be a hassle. we felt cared for and appreciated the attention to detail, and would definitely come back again.

The Deluxe King Room, Autumn offered a plush, well-furnished space that felt more like a small luxury suite than a typical stay. Special touches like comfortable bedding and meticulous decor showcased the attention to detail that made the ambiance enjoyable.
Located just at the edge of the shops and bars, noise from the occasional reveller made its way into the room—something to consider if you're sensitive to disturbances. Parking proved to be a hassle, with no onsite options and a bit of a trek required to find a spot, though there was a disc available for use nearby. While the facilities were clean and nicely restored, the in-room coffee options were standard and didn’t quite align with the luxury experience expected at this price point.

The parking situation is a nightmare!!! Expect to circle the area several times just to find a spot. noise from nearby bars can disrupt your sleep, especially on busy nights!!!

The breakfast spread was a dream, especially that yogurt and granola—a must-try! The location couldn't be better, with local eateries like Magpie Cafe and Rusty Shears just a stone’s throw away, perfect for noshing after a long walk along the stunning Cinder Trail.
The only hiccup? I couldn't snag the yogurt recipe! But honestly, with the tranquility of the spot and quick access to town, it hardly mattered—this place still shines bright.
